Blind Estimation of Communication Link Parameters and Signal Separation of Co- Frequency Signals in Wireless Communication. Date: September 2020 – May 2022 I completed my Master’s Thesis under the guidance of Prof. Devendra Jalihal and also the mentorship of Prof. Radhakrishna Ganti at IITM.
Abstract: The aim of the project involves blind estimation of link parameters like symbol rate, roll off factor, FEC scheme, and modulation scheme used between two satellite modems communicating on the shared center frequency and then separating both streams using the estimated parameters. For successful symbol separation, we develop novel algorithms for estimating impairments like CFO and timing offsets of both the carriers together.

Presentation on Proof of Polar Codes [ YouTube ] [ PDF ] Date: May 2021 In this presentation, I give an intuitive understanding to polar codes and explain the mechanics of the proof of their working using Martingale techniques and concentration inequalities. This project was done under the guidance of Prof. Abhishek Sinha, for the course EE6112 – Topics on Random Processes and Concentration Inequalities.
Phase-Locked Loop System and Circuit Design for Clock generation [ PDF ] Date: December 2020 Designed a complete PLL system for 2.56GHz clock generation at transistor level. Simulated and optimized performance of PLL for key metrics like spur rejection, power supply rejection, phase noise with nominal loop gain and phase margin. This project was done under the guidance of Prof. Saurabh Saxena, for the course EE6324 – Phase Locked Loops.
Compressed Sensing for De-noising Audio Signals [ GitHub ] [ PDF ] Date: June 2020 Applied Compressed Sensing (CS) Techniques to get a sparse approximation of an audio signal in the frequency domain for denoising by posing it as an L1 convex optimization problem. Done under the guidance of Prof. Rachel K, for the course EE5121 – Convex Optimization.
Convergence of EM Algorithm for Gaussian Mixtures with Unbalanced Mixing [ GitHub ] [ PDF ] Date: June 2020 Researched faster algorithm (DAEM) for GMMs with unbalanced mixing coefficients. Applied method to approximate non-Gaussian (𝛼-stable) noise models and use method for wireless channel estimation. This project was done under the guidance of Prof. Sheetal Kalyani.
